Description This set features an exact reproduction of the British Army Standard Ammunition Boots and Wool Puttees used during the Boer War (1899–1902) and into the early 20th century. The ammunition boots are crafted from full-grain blackened leather, built for durability and authenticity. They feature hobnailed leather soles, reinforced toe caps, and heel plates, faithfully replicating the military footwear worn by infantry across the South African veldt. The uppers are smooth-finished leather, ankle-high, and closed with sturdy eyelets and black cotton laces. The set includes matching khaki wool puttees, cut from high-quality woven wool with cotton ties. These were wound tightly around the lower legs for protection against brush, dust, and minor abrasions, and to support the ankles during long marches. Together, they complete the authentic look of the Boer War soldier’s field service uniform — rugged, practical, and unmistakably Victorian in design. Custom tailoring available at no extra cost.Excellent buy for reenactors, collectors, museums, movies/film and theater.
