Two volume set handsomely published by Broadfoot Publishing, 2009 and 2022. The second volume of this set was the last book published by Broadfoot Publishing before they ceased publishing operations. It is a 103 page addendum to the 5th edition main volume and it was also an extremely limited print run of 200 copies so examples are and will remain scarce. The main volume of this set is the 5th edition which is the most up-to-date, comprehensive edition; loaded with an enormous amount of new information and biographical insights over all prior editions. It provides the most detailed, comprehensive and up-to-date material on this detailed biographical register of nearly 2,000 Confederate Colonels, Lieutenant Colonels and Majors who fought in Lee's Army of Northern Virginia and well as information of many officers that served the Confederacy in other commands. Bob Krick has unearthed an enormous quantity of new information in this edition.Organized by topic and alphabetical, the book provides a listing of these officers and presents individual profiles of their respective service records. Miscellaneous facts, heights, education, prewar occupations, post war occupations, post war mortality information, notes and abbreviations, and may other points are provided in addition to these biographical sketches. Also added are details of precise birth or death, middle names, burial sites, marriages and more on the more than 1200 Majors, Lieutenant Colonels and colonels who fought in Lee's Army. On most of the rest, he has added further, new material including contemporary quotes. The appendix, which features one-line entries and years of life on non-Army of Northern Virginia field offices of the line, has benefited from similar refinement and expansion with the imposing array of fresh material.It has an Introduction to the Appendix and a listing of Regiments and Battalions of the Army of Northern Virginia, and a detailed index.
