Description Kabul to Kandahar Star, 2020 Private G. Field, 9th Lancers. Naming officially embossed on reverse: “2020 PRIVATE G. FIELD 9th LANCERS” Pte Field is shown on the Afghanistan 1878-80 medal roll, being entitled to the medal with clasp “Kandahar”. During the Afghan War, Sir Frederick Roberts took the men on the famous 300 mile march from Kabul to Kandahar. Once they arrived they took part in the penultimate Battle of Kandahar which ended the war.
