Description Egypt Medal, undated, bar Suakin 1885, 6797 Private Harry Jennings, 3rd Bn Grenadier Guards. Officially engraved: “6797 Pte H. Jennings. 3/Grenr Gds” Confirmed on the medal roll, medal roll notes that at the time of issue he was with the Army Reserve, at Exning in Newmarket. Not much pitting likely due to his discharge. Due to the discharge note he is likely to be the Harry Jennings born 1858 either in London or Exning, found on the 1871 Census living in Exning, Newmarket, where he was going to school whilst living with his Uncle Michael Newton, his widowed father and sister. He likely returned home to his family after discharge.
