Description Military sashes, cummerbunds, and puggarees have long symbolized authority, heritage, and distinction across global armies. Sashes, once used for rank and first aid, evolved into ceremonial wear. Cummerbunds, adapted from India, replaced heavy waistcoats in warm climates and remain part of formal mess dress. Puggarees, derived from Indian turbans, were worn on tropical helmets and later became regimental identifiers. Today, all three represent military tradition in parade and dress uniforms worldwide.
