The front of the XV1-R deploys an intuitive layout of controls, which users can master quickly and easily. The recorders pair of high-quality custom X/Y configured microphones handle a maximum SPL of 130 db. Onboard effects help you capture audio appropriately for each situation. Low cut allows you to remove rumble from the sound, Gate filters out background noise, Compressor evens out the spikes in volume, and Limiter prevents the loudest sounds from distorting and clipping. A socket on the underside of the unit enables you to attach the recorder to tripods and DSLR cameras, expanding your options for placement of the XV1-R during recording. XV1-R can record on a range of SD and MicroSD cards: MicroSD (up to 2 GB), SDHC (up to 32 GB), and SDXC (up to 128 GB). A handy Overdub features allows you to record on top of what you have already recorded. This allows you to add a harmony, add a commentary, or even create several layers to demo a song! The XV1-R can be mounted on top of a DSLR and used as a high-quality stereo sound recording device for video. Conveniently, the unit can generate slate tones which can later be used to accurately sync the audio and video in editing. The on-board speaker is handy for moments when you dont have headphones or earphones nearby, or want to check or identify recordings. When recording outdoors, the included fur windscreen protects your recording from annoying wind noise.
