Will it work on a Mark VI? Obviously Reference 54 tenor sax neck works with the Reference 54 but it is also a very good fit for Mark VI tenor saxes. Additional Information Why Solid Silver? Official Selmer Paris ProShop Solid Sterling Silver (92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper) is a heavier alloy than brass but it vibrates & responds exceptionally well. The use of solid silver Reference tenor sax neck will produce a more resonant instrument that will have more tonal presence and versatility. This effectively amplifies whatever is put in to the horn by the player and mouthpiece. So mouthpieces that are dark by nature will be darker, richer & bigger when paired with the Solid Silver neck. Mouthpieces that are brighter will be edgier, more brilliant and more powerful when paired with the Solid Silver neck. The biggest benefit of the solid silver Reference tenor sax neck when paired with tenor sax is the middle range of the sax. For many players, the middle register of the Reference tenor does not respond as easily or as robustly as the upper and lower registers (since everyone is different). When you pair the horn with the Solid Silver neck, it balances out all the registers of the horn AND improves the resonance and response throughout the whole range of the instrument! We especially love the Reference 54 Solid Silver tenor neck as it works excellent on both the Reference 54 and 36 models!
