Outstanding and extremely comprehensive World War II German unit history for the 76.Infanterie-Division (the 76th Infantry Division) . Over 600 pages long, includes numerous photos and maps. In German. A rare and desirable World War II unit history. Formed in 1939 this unit first took part in combat during the 1940 Western Campaign against France and the Low Countries. It next took part in 1941 in the Invasion of the Soviet Union where in the winter of 1942/43 it was completely destroyed at Stalingrad. The unit was reformed later in 1943 in France. After formation and training it was transferred once more to the East Front where it served in the south. It was nearly destroyed again during the fighting in Hungry in late 1944, and remnants retreated to Slovakia.
